Kindergarten Funding

At Burwood House, we are committed to providing accessible, high-quality early childhood education. As an approved provider under the Victorian Government's Kinder Funding program, we offer funded kindergarten programs for both three and four-year-old children.

Funding Details for Families

Three-Year-Old Kindergarten:

Program Hours: Between 5 to 15 hours per week.

Funding: The government provides funding to cover these hours, ensuring the program is free for families.

For example, in 2025, sessional services receive funding per child based on the number of hours enrolled. If a child is enrolled for 7.5 hours per week, the service receives half of the full 15-hour Free Kinder rate.

Understanding Kinder Funding

The Victorian Government's Kinder Funding initiative ensures that families can access free or low-cost kindergarten programs, reducing financial barriers to early education. This funding is provided directly to approved service providers like Burwood House, enabling us to deliver quality programs without passing costs onto families.

Funding Details for Families

Four-Year-Old Kindergarten:

Funding: The government provides funding to cover the full 15 hours, making the program free for families. In 2025, sessional services offering a 15-hour program receive a per-child funding rate to cover these hours.

Additional Support

For families facing financial hardship or those with children eligible for Early Start Kindergarten, additional funding and support mechanisms are available to ensure every child can participate fully in our programs.
